The Common Sense Show

They always say that the husband is the last to know and that a devastating extramarital affair that can serve to undermine a marriage, can simply come out of nowhere. Generally, this is not true, for when a marriage gets to the point infidelity, there are usually definitive clues that have been missed. People often become victims when they fail to recognize the times that they live in. Along these lines my fellow Americans, there are many in this country who believe that they are perfectly safe and that their freedoms are intact. The aforementioned is a child-like fantasy promulgated by people who buy into the MSM message parroted by George W. Bush when he said “They hate us for our freedoms.” What freedoms? Would this be the freedom to have a criminal CPS snatch our kids without so much of an allegation of wrongdoing on the part of the parent, while the process is devoid of the due process of law? Would this freedom consist of the freedom to have our collective money stolen from us in the infamous bailouts by the banksters?” Would this be the freedom to have our children arrested and put in chains for child-like bullying on the playground and then tagged with a criminal record? Or would this freedom consist of six year old boys being arrested for using their index finger as a gun while playing at school? Would that freedom consist of that private corporation known as the IRS harassing the enemies of the state (i.e. Obama)? Would this freedom consist of a veteran risking his/her life in their tour of duty and then be denied life-saving medical care upon returning home by the Veterans Administration? Or, would that freedom consist of the right to be murdered like Breitbart, Hastings or Clancy for reporting the criminal truth about this administration? Please show me what freedoms we are talking about?

America’s legal system and Constitution have been conquered and eradicated. There is no firewall, the people are now vulnerable and we will be the next ones to conquered and eradicated.

The Imposition of a Totalitarian System

The imposition of a brutal totalitarian system of government, in the annals of history, is far more common than it is not. Some say it was only a matter of time until America regressed into a brutal totalitarian regime similar to what has occurred in the history of our planet.

America is witnessing the Sovietization of its legal system. The similarities are striking, undeniable and should prove frightening to all Americans.

The Soviet Gulag System of Justice Consisted of Two Major Components

  • The “disappearing” of dissidents and anyone suspected of not being 100% loyal to Stalin.
  • Anyone not murdered by the Secret Police upon being secretly arrested, were exploited as slave labor in the re-education camps which would ultimately reward the state-owned corporations.

The Emerging American Gulag System of Justice Consists of Two Major Soviet Components

  • The authority of the government to “disappear” and even murder dissidents and anyone suspected of not being loyal to the ruling elite has been granted by the government, to itself.
  • Anyone not murdered by the American NDAA agents of totalitarian enforcement, upon being secretly arrested, will be forced into slave labor, which will ultimately benefit selected corporations.

There are even those in the alternative media who deny the existence of FEMA camps and ignore the fact that since 2009, Obama’s minions, through aerial assaults also have killed three U.S. citizens as well as countless of innocent civilians in both Pakistan and Afghanistan. Obama’s actions begs the question as to whether the president has the right to order the death of Americans without due process of law.

One of those controversial and well publicized drone attacks involved the killing of Anwar al-Awalki. He was an American citizen and, at the same time, a radical Muslim cleric who had relocated his family to Yemen. He was rumored to be involved in repeated attempts to attack the U.S., including the Christmas day underwear bomber plot in 2009 that would have blown up a passenger jet over Detroit. However, the murder of Anwar al-Awalki was committed without any due process of law.

Also killed as the result of a drone attack was American citizen, Samir Khan. He was the editor of “Inspire,” an alleged al Qaeda ‘s online magazine. Kahn was never accused of participating in, or being involved with the planning of any terrorist activity. And since when has it been a criminal offense to be involved in al Qaeda, since we used their assets to attack Libya and have involved members of this organization in trying overthrow Syria’s Assad. Two weeks later, after the death of his father, in a separate drone attack, al-Awalki’s 16-year-old son, who was born in Denver, was murdered by a drone. Some will say that these terrorists got what they deserved. What happens when you become the terrorist? What happens when your support of the Second Amendment becomes an issue for the administration in power? What if they don’t like your tendency to speak out in behalf of the Bill of Rights. What will you think then when YOU are the terrorist?

At the end of the day, if these three individuals were involved in terrorist activity, then they should have been arrested and tried for their crimes. Instead, our communist-in-chief, decides on his own authority to murder these three Americans without any due process of law. So, my cognitive dissonance friend, what makes you feel so safe?

The Soviet Gulag System

At the peak of the secret Soviet arrests in the 1930’s, extreme fear and even paranoia were pervasive in Soviet cities. It was common knowledge that even intellectuals slept with suitcases of warm clothes and supplies ready under their beds. The Soviet Secret Police typically carried out their arrests in the middle of the night, when there would be few if any witnesses. The Soviet citizenry lived in terror of that they would hear the sound of that ominous knock on the door.

Much like present day America, under the NSA and their chartered mandate from the Patriot Acts I and II, private conversations were scrutinized as much as published work for any possible incriminating comment which could be construed as critical of the ruling regime. Political opportunists took advantage of this insane atmosphere of fear to rid themselves of rivals. Subordinates turned in their bosses in the hope of securing their positions. Rewards were given to informants and government snitches might get improved living accommodations by denouncing a neighbor. This is the stuff of the “bad moon arising” that we are now witnessing in our country.

Many of those arrested had their fate decided quickly at the hands of an execution squad. Those, who initially survived the secret arrest, were transported to prison camps. Repression in the Soviet Union utilized prison camps for political prisoners under the rule of Lenin and then later Stalin.

The Emerging American Gulag System

Section 1021(b)(2) of the National Defense Authorization Act permits the government to use the military to detain U.S. citizens, strip them of due process and hold them indefinitely in military detention centers. Political prisoners could easily be tortured and executed because who would ever be in a position to report such a heinous crime by the state?

These inexcusable transgressions against our Constitutional liberties, could have been easily fixed by Congress. The Senate and House had the opportunity during this past month to include in the 2013 version of the NDAA, an unequivocal statement that all U.S. citizens would be exempt from 1021(b)(2), leaving the section to apply only to foreigners. However, our criminal Congress and our criminal President remained silent to the pleas to reform the NDAA  in order to conform to the Constitution.

Indefinite detention, torture, and even unsanctioned murder are now legitimized practices of the United States government under Section 1021(b)(2) of the NDAA. America even has developed their own Soviet-style informant matrix in a plot hatched by the former Director of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano.

At the end of the day, the NDAA makes it likely that knocks on American doors followed by the implementation of Soviet-style justice is in our near future. Unfortunately, this is not where the parallels end. Consider the following for your approbation.

Forced Labor In the Soviet Re-Education Camps

One of the first Soviet forced labor camps was the Solovetsky Special Purpose Camp (SLON), known as Solovki. It was at this camp that the idea was hatched of expanding the prison system into a huge network caught on. It was found that prisoners could be used for labor at practically no cost to the state because prisoner required no wages and only minimal expense for room and board. Prisoners could simply be forced to work until they dropped dead.

The Gulag Camps rapidly spread across the Soviet Union in the 1930’s. Administered by the NKVD, the Gulag became a state within a state, with its own laws, government and even its own economy, which some speculate may have been larger than the Soviet state. Camps were located in isolated areas, many in the vast expanses of Siberia, where the climate and the land were often fatal to the political prisoners over time.

Most Soviet citizens who were sent to Siberia, never returned.

The Emerging American Gulag System

The similarities between the old Soviet Gulags and the American prison system are stunning. Consider the following contained in a recent expose by Truthout, as an unidentified female prisoner at Arizona’s state prison, at Perryville, described her day working as a laborer for a private company called Martori Farms.

prison-slave-labor

“They wake us up between 2.30 and 3am and kick us out of our housing unit by 3.30am. We get fed at 4am. Our work supervisors show up between 5am and 8am. Then it’s an hour to a one-and-a-half-hour drive to the job site. Then we work eight hours, regardless of conditions … We work in the fields hoeing weeds and thinning plants…

“Currently, we are forced to work in the blazing sun for eight hours. We run out of water several times a day. We ran out of sunscreen several times a week. They don’t check medical backgrounds or ages before they pull women for these jobs. Many of us cannot do it! If we stop working and sit on the bus or even just take an unauthorized break, we get a major ticket which takes away our ‘good time’.”

Researcher, Ben Stein, stated that The American Legislative Exchange (Alec), comprised of a think-tank of 2400 state legislators from the 50 states, write uniform legislation which “has proven expertly capable of devising endless ways to help private corporations benefit from the country’s massive prison population.”  This is state-sponsored slavery. This unholy system has resulted in America, representing 4% of the world’s population, housing 25% of the world’s prison population! And most of this prison growth is being done by the privatized prisons with the promise of 100% occupancy of all all prison beds.

Welcome to the administration of justice, Gulag style. How this does not violate the 13th Amendment’s prohibition on slavery, is a mystery, or maybe it is not so mysterious, when one considers that the Bush family is at the center of privatizing prisons for profit.

Conclusion

Secret arrests, torture and even murder are now part of our legal system, but they are only a means to an end. The criminal elite must be planning something of monumental proportions to go to the lengths that we are witnessing under the auspices of the NDAA and accompanying gun control legislation.

George W. Bush was partially correct when he said that “they hate us for our freedoms”. This administration does hate us for the few freedoms that we have left. We are all enemies of the state. When martial law is declared this year or next, these words will reverberate inside of your head. And when your jailers are Russian and Chinese, you will wish you would have taken these warnings to heart.

The NDAA is not about protecting us. It is about protecting the state from us.The entire surveillance spy grid is about turning you into a prisoner. Perhaps we should all begin sleeping with suitcases of warm clothes and supplies under our collective beds.

I call myself ‘ReluctantWarrior’ because I am against the use of violence to achieve the objective of ushering in a new (and humane) civilization that will celebrate human creativity and imagination. I do believe that the pen is mightier than the sword. We can win this battle by spreading the kind of memes that awaken the heart. Using the internet in this age of global connectivity is the best way we can inseminate the body politic with ideas that are healing and liberating. True freedom is not something that can be handed down by old men in wigs using fancy quill pens scribbling on parchment paper. The Promised Land is within, and we will get to the promised land. I believe that globalism may collapse because, ultimately, it is unsustainable. On the other hand the global elites do have endless resources that they can bring to bear in an effort to ‘control’ us. So, to me, the verdict is still out on the future of globalism. More likely I see a period of dark anarchy that will be a free for all with every man and woman for his or herself. In the end we must endure with the power of the human heart. This is a war that will be won 1 heart at a time with love:

    Prayer At Ravensbruck

Is life a fatal fuge of despair and deception
The cross on which we audition for ‘God’s’ resurrection?
And if it were not for the trials of you and me
What purpose for our better Angels to be.
The good book says time and again
That we are no more than the sinful sons of men
And though we may cry out to our good dear LORD
We were born to suffer ‘as the sparks fly upward.’
Is the accepting life born on thorn and thistle
    the only real immortal epistle?
And though mighty armies have faught for this Lord
I choose the pen and not the sword.
And how can we fathom the course history took
In the beautiful lost flowers of Ravensbruck
Where such grotesque suffering set the stage
For the greatest work on prayer’s page.
That such an act of noble forgiveness
Became a stroke of pure Angelic genius.
    No words more eloquently spoken
Greater than the sum of all love’s earthly tokens.
At Ravensbruck lying near dead child
A written testament without malice or guile
That points the way beyond time and space
In the drying tears staining that little face.
And in that crumpled paper lying on the ground
    Something more than words profound,
    A tear, a wound a gentle hope
    A journey beyond Calvary’s slope
And in these words of heavenly mastery
Are swollowed all the crimes of history:

‘LORD, remember not only the Men
and Women of good will also those of
    ill will.

But do not only remember the
suffering they have inflicted upon us.

Remember the fruits we have brought,
    thanks to this suffering–
our comradship, our loyalty, our humility,
    the courage, the generosity, the
    greatness of heart which has
    grown out of all this.

And when they come to judgement, let
all the fruits we have borne be their
    forgiveness

    Amen’

This is slightly off topic but I wanted you (Dave) and your readers to see this. The official ObamaCare (GhettoCare) Hotline # spells 1-800-F*CK-YO (this is not a joke!) check it out here: http://www.capitalisminstitute.org/obamacare-phone-number/

For decades, truly vicious criminals, convicted in court, have been freed on appeal by leftist judges, citing imaginary “rights” nowhere written or implied in our late, great Constitution. Recently, the Obaminable Hussein freed tens of thousands of illegal aliens, who, in addition to the crime of coming here, had been convicted of robberies, rapes, and murders.
Yet this same criminal “justice” system has no problem railroading people like Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean into prison for doing their duty, or seizing children from law-abiding, non-abusive parents, or taking peoples’ farms, ranches, and homes. The Mad Mullah enforces or fails to enforce provisions of its own “health care” law at a whim.
Ruled as we are by an out of control and lawless government, we citizens, while bound by God’ laws, are no longer bound by the laws created by our would-be masters. We owe no obedience to the laws, no loyalty to our leaders, and no taxes to their Treasury.

Hello Dave, Thank you for this most excellent article. Maintaining the focus upon this element of history flies in the face of much of the alternative and MSM disinfowarriors who love to demonize and lay blame at the feet of the many victims of this criminal cabal.

  6. Jim May 21, 2014 at 7:08 am

The president is supposed to serve the people, not kill the people. Schools are a Gulag, we just had a teacher here in Oregon, make the kids in her classroom pay with play money to go to the bathroom. This little girl was expected to make a choice, buy popcorn or go to the bathroom, well of course she chose popcorn, she ended up messing her pants and the teacher made her put on boys clothes and she was teased and harassed. The school now says it’s investigating, yeah right. What I’m really getting at is that we all live on a prison planet. They are training us all from childhood to adulthood that being a good slave is your duty, and any deviation from this makes you a racist or terrorist, any deviation from this thought control will be punishable by death.

  7. iwitness02 May 21, 2014 at 7:14 am

As aggressive and vicious as this administration is, a second suit case full of tactical gear might be a good companion to a suit case full of warm clothes and supplies.
Again, what a shame we have to think in such terms.

  8. Tony G May 21, 2014 at 7:39 am

Dave, CNN just reported that two months ago EBAY was hacked. By the way they recommend you change your password. With the current events having the Chinese getting caught hacking into several corp’s systems and Janet Napalitano’s farewell speech indicating that her predecessor would have to deal with a cyber attack, are you hearing anything about an attack on the electrical grid? Perhaps even our defense system that would allow a blindside EMP strike to hit? Seems all so conspicously coincidental.

  9. WeepforUs May 21, 2014 at 7:45 am

“Kill ’em all and let God sort ’em out”, was a saying written on a t-shirt that I had in my teens. Nowadays, that saying seems to be more appropriate than ever. Is that the last recourse that we have left? Where are the patriots? The people in the 3 branches of our government, who still believe in our Constitution, who would have the ability to “stop” Obama and his communists? They are all impotent. Nowhere to be found. Cowards and traitors alike. We in the “resistance” have no leader that WE can rally around so how in the hell do we expect the sheep to wake up and take notice? We are all scattered and fragmented. A previous reader to your columns suggested that we all watch a mini-series called Amerika from 1987. Please everyone, go ahead and watch it and if you don’t cry, get angry or have the fear of God run through your veins then the fluoride you’ve been drinking for the last 40 years has done its job and all is lost. Now I know we don’t rely on Hollywood for our information or inspiration etc. but we in the “resistance” do take into account all information, scenarios, plans, strategies etc that may enable us to defeat these enemies of freedom and liberty. This is part of the least that we can do. We are not idiots.

  10. Dave May 21, 2014 at 8:17 am

This can only end one way. They have to go or we do. I don’t think they will settle for anything less.

  11. daniel lee morgan May 21, 2014 at 8:56 am

Live free or die , I am sure the our traitorous leaders would rather have us die. Don,t assume that there will not be people who wont resist these haters of the constitution! And of course there will be the useful idiots that support these traitors We the people who choose to live free by the Constitution will do our best to make sure they go the way the British went in 1776, and latter enemies we have faced , remember it wasn’t our wonderful public scum leaders that charged Iwo Jima , it was every day Joes’ like you and me ! Remember how you felt after 9-11? Guess how that would make the American people would feel, ,if our own government started fratricide, to, make us slaves or worse! As for me Give me Liberty, and death for those who would try steal it from us!

  13. Wally May 21, 2014 at 9:11 am

    A few more:

    1. Is it freedom that a missed $6 tax fee would cause you to lose your house.
    2. Is it freedom that a baker in Arizona could not refuse to bake a wedding cake for a gay marriage.
    3. Is it freedom that a CEO can get fired over a 1k donation to proposition 8 in California.
    4. Is it freedom that the will of the people is being overturned by rogue federal judges.
    5. Is it freedom that you can’t but a 100 watt light bulb.
    6. Is it freedom that the parents cannot dictate their child’s education.
    7. Is it freedom that we are forced onto Obamacare.
    8. Is it freedom that we can’t live off the grid. Cities are banning this.
    9. Is it freedom that even a belief we have can get you thrown in jail.
    10. Is it freedom that almost half of America is receiving some sort of Gov’t assistance.
    11. Is it freedom that a new company can not even open without jumping through a million hoops with the EPA, etc.
    12. There are many many more but let me close with this: Is it freedom that the last bastion of freedom, the Internet now is under attack and very soon we won’t have this site or others to keep us informed.

  14. connie grimes May 21, 2014 at 9:39 am

Mr. Hodges, no disrespect intended to you, but it would suit me just fine if the government worked every prisoner in this country to death and the sooner the better. Just before the ner do gooders die I sincerely wish one of them would tell me where my lawnmower and toolbox are. These people are nothing but theives and worse, so the sooner they die, and the deader they die, the the better it is for the rest of us. You sure won’t catch me shedding a tear for any of them. Hell is too good for them!

  15. Jim May 21, 2014 at 11:06 am

Sadly, it seems clear to me anyway, that, some event is going to occur, whichs starts a reaction igniting violence and panic in America. As I listen, and watch, and occassionally converse with people, I become unsettled by the perception of the state of the USA by nearly everyone. Even the few who are savvy and are preparing, scare me. Why? Because they are only concerned with themselves. And I have little doubt they will shoot even those they know should be on the same side.
Safe and secure are NOT words I would apply to the mindset of the populace.
Denial. Ignorance. Greedy. Those words aptly adhere to them.
In my area, even the gangs ‘get it’, and are prepared to have a field day when the opportunity arises. HOW do I know? Because I employ several of them. And have earned their respect by treating them as humans, not ethnic objects. So we talk. They expect turf wars, as well as ‘freedom’ from either an overburdened police, or police who just won’t respond. I just wish there were some way to be able to “SEE” what event is coming. I kind of predicted the Bundy situation to the degree, that, a set-up for ambush would be made, and the result, the Militia slaughters the agents. Bringing on martial law. Well it damn near did happen. Thankfully, it was stopped.
Freedom? The last time I now think I was free, was as a kid roaming the woods. No cell phone/GPS, drones or other tech means of finding me if I didn’t want to be found.

  16. Nancy DePeri May 21, 2014 at 11:14 am

My son in law was at a friends house Sunday morning, he was there ten minutes, eating a McDonalds breakfast. There was a knock on the door and was told from the police officers that there was a complaint from a neighbor about loud music. Upon entering his friends home, the officers began ransacking the home. After going into his friends bedroom they found drugs and apparently a stolen motorcycle. My son in law was arrested along with the other two people who lived in the house. All of his personal property; Phone, gun (cwp) certified were confiscated as well. He was thrown into jail and charged with a myriad of legal charges. He now has to plead guilty if he wants his record to cleared as well as classes and fines to avoid paying a legal fees. If this does not smack of a totalitarian state I don’t know what does. There are no more freedoms left as all the laws of protection have been silently vanquished, thank’s to the beloved George W and all the others who have stealthfully taken them with the help of the patriot act and all the others that we have allowed them to, all of course in the name of safety.

  17. David McElroy May 21, 2014 at 11:23 am

My bug-out bag is ready, Dave. But at my age, in my condition, I won’t get far. I would rather die than work for Satan’s minions for even one minute. God help us to rekindle the “Spirit of ’76”!

  18. Michael May 21, 2014 at 11:55 am

do you really think they will declare martial law soon? I have been hearing rumors of this happening and that happening and waiting with anticipation then nothing…….At this point I am not sure how to feel, most ppl think I am not all there, so discussion is not an option. Sometimes I wish I knew nothing at all, other times I wish it would just happen, so I can figure out how to deal with it and move on….this is all a sick game that needs to end.

The latest from Paul Craig Roberts with commentary from Chris Hedges fits in well with Dave’s “How can American feel safe….”

    Justice Is Dead In Amerika
    by Paul Craig Roberts

Cecily McMillan is an Occupy protester who was seized from behind by a goon thug cop–a goon thug with a long record of abuse of authority–by her boobs. One was badly bruised. Cecily McMillan’s elbow reflexively and instinctively came up, and Cecily was arrested for assaulting a goon thug. The goon thug was not arrested for sexually assaulting a young woman.

Dave or anyone with definitive knowledge about things like this: Anwar al Awalki, the reputed underwear bomber…..for the sake of argument, lets assume he did have drawers made of C-4 or some other explosive. He did not have a an initiator, such as a blasting cap or det cord, he did not have the means to set one off if he did…..no battery, wires or switches. Granted he THOUGHT he was a human bomb, but was he really or was he a dupe/false flag designed to give more powers to the TSA/DHS/Gov’t? …. I know there are very high tech liquids that can be mixed to cause an explosion, but no one has ever said Awalki was in possession of anything other than drawers that caught fire or smoldered at best……..Any clues or answers?

  22. NW Native May 21, 2014 at 2:48 pm

Just wait until a real psychopath takes the reigns of power in the USSA. Then the real fun will begin. NKVD or NDAA what’s the difference? Same play. Just a different cast of characters from the same tribe.

  23. Sum Ting Wong May 21, 2014 at 2:58 pm

Dave, I can’t discount what you are writing about. This is true. I get the fact that this administration is becoming more totalitarian with each passing day. However, what makes you think that martial law will be declared this year or next? That’s a pretty absolute prediction.

Also, on a side note, early this morning I attempted to re-post something I had posted on your site a few weeks ago. But it appears as though you blocked it. Why is that?

  24. Diogenes Shrugged May 21, 2014 at 3:06 pm

Quoting the concluding remark: “Perhaps we should all begin sleeping with suitcases of warm clothes and supplies under our collective beds.” Personally, I think it makes more sense to make a final stand in the comfort of your own home rather than risk being snapped up or shot in an unfamiliar environment. There is no safe way out of this mess, and nowhere safe to go.

We each have a huge stake in the ultimate outcome after all the battles are fought and all the tears are shed. If everybody decides to hope for the best and runs away or surrenders, the outcome will most assuredly be 1984 on steroids. If everybody stands his ground with heavy calibers and rage in his heart, the outcome could very well more resemble 1776. Each of us will have to make choices, and if you make those choices IN ADVANCE based on principle, it could very well make a chosen course of action easier when the time comes.

Patience is a virtue we all must excercise as our enemies do. They don’t ant to fail so their timing has to be right in their minds. Pray to God for guidance he will show you the way. Whatever course of action you take let him be your guide. People think I am nuts too. So what. Perhaps we’re all modern day Noah’s. Keep the faith and fear not. Keep your eyes to the sky and ear to the ground. For it has been written and it will be done.

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed,(Jesus) saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure

Just curious Dave. Do you believe these TRAITORS to our nations citizens know what history says will happen to them once their puppet masters no longer find them useful? If they’re willing to sell out their own country for whatever vice gets thaie boat floated, they’re also willing to sell out their puppeteers. They are untrustworthy to everyone. Their fate is sealed and written in all the history books. I almost feel sorry for them. Are they blind as to the fate of all those used and disgarded Dead Bankers? If we don’t get them first, their handlers will eventually.
