food riots

The cost of food has been steadily increasing in places like Thailand and Venezuela as evidenced by the fact that since the beginning of 2014, riots are occurring in countries that are suffering through extreme food shortages.  These mass protests movements may all have one thing in common, increasing food prices are the cause of the civil unrest.

According to Dr. Yaneer Bar-Yam and his research colleagues at the New England Complex Systems Institute (NECSI), they are collectively stating that civil unrest, spurred by food shortages. may be anticipated for their effect by a mathematical model that correlates the variables of rising food costs, diminished and that are related to income and civil unrest. The present data suggests that America is ripe for the same kinds of civil disruption that we are witnessing in Thailand and Venezuela. How bad could the civil unrest become?  Nobody can be certain except to say that America is entering into uncharted waters.

If one uses the violent civil unrest in Ferguson, MO. as a barometer of severity of the act of rioting, we need to realize that people are protesting the shooting death of one young man by a local police officer. Imagine how much more vitriolic these protests would become, how much more looting would take place and how many more people would be killed and injured if people and their children were facing starvation and these riots were food riots. The people of the United States are almost at the point of no return with regard to the coming food riots.

Inflation Related to Food Prices

In calculating the overall inflation rate, the government does not count the price of food. However, there are several reliable food inflation figures and the food inflation rate is estimated to be between 19% to 22%.

food inflation

In the article, “Food Price Inflation Scares the Fed” the commodity food costs were exploding on the upside. Calculation of the food inflation rate, given the lag in commodity costs impacting prices on grocery store shelves, we find that the annual U.S. food inflation rate is now running at a staggering +22% and the rate is increasing with no end in sight to the escalation.

The real and specific cause for food inflation is the $940 billion of additional monetary stimulus from the United States Federal Reserve’s quantitative (bail out) easing over the last twelve months.  Both the cost of food and gasoline inflation rates are awakening the variables associated with hyperinflation. Please note that the $940 billion of giveaway bailout money is nearly half of what we take in as a country in taxes. If you truly want to be accurate about America’s economic future, repeat the accurate mantra, “There will be no economic recovery” and “Many Americans are going to starve to death”.

A Snapshot of America’s Food Vulnerability

Almost beyond belief, a full 79 percent of the people that use food banks purchase typically buy cheap, unhealthy food and still just have enough to feed their children.  The price of food continues to quickly out-pace the paychecks of most middle class families.  For example, the average price of ground beef has just hit a brand new all-time record high of $3.88 per pound! There are nearly 50 million Americans that are dealing with food insecurity in various degrees of distress. Just over one out of seven Americans rely on obtaining food from various banks at one point or another and these food banks are beginning to experience record shortages.

In a case of “defend the nation and starve”, military families are feeling even more stress  from not being able to obtain sufficient quantities of food as 25% of America military families require outside assistance in getting enough to eat. What does this say about an administration which uses our soldiers to defend the nation and then kicks them to the curb by denying their VA  health benefits as the government also starves their families because they cannot survive on what we pay our soldiers? This is disgraceful, but it is the Obama fundamental transformation of American way!

America Has No Way to Keep Up with Food Inflation

According to the New York Times, the typical American family is now worth 36% less than it was worth only 10 years ago!  Shockingly, one out of every six men, ranging in ages from 25 to 54, are not employed. Median family income in the United States is 7% lower than it was in 2000. The United States is now in 19th place in the world and falling. There is no way that the majority of American families can keep pace with food inflation as the wages of Americans are now inversely correlated with the rising food prices. This is a prescription for disaster. The most vulnerable to starvation within the present economic climate are the children as an amazing twenty six percent of all children are living below the poverty level. With these kind of distressing statistics, a significant number of Americans are vulnerable to politically motivated “food blackmail” in these  times of economic distress.

There is historical evidence that food vulnerability may have been planned for a long time by elements of the U.S. government.

The US Government and Its Food Deprivation Policies

food is not a weaponThe use of food as a political manipulation tool,  by the U.S. government, has been a matter of official U.S. governmental covert policy since 1974-1975.

In December, 1974, National Security Council directed by Henry Kissinger completed a classified study entitled, National Security Study Memorandum 200: Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for U.S. Security and Overseas Interests. The study was based upon the unproven claims that population growth in Lesser Developed Countries (LDC) constituted a serious risk to America’s national security.

In November 1975 President Ford, based upon the tenets of NSSM 200 outlined a classified plan to forcibly reduce population growth in LDC countries through birth control, war and famine. Ford’s new national security adviser, Brent Scowcroft, in conjunction with then CIA  Director, George H. W. Bush, were tasked with implementing the plan and the secretaries of state, treasury, defense, and agriculture assisted in the implementation of these insane genocidal plans.

kissinger useless eatersNSSM 200 formally raised the question, “Would food be considered an instrument of national power? Is the U.S. prepared to accept food rationing to help people who can’t/won’t control their population growth?” Kissinger has answered these questions when he stated that he was predicting a series of contrived famines, created by mandatory programs and this would make exclusive reliance on birth control programs unnecessary in this modern day application of eugenics in a scheme that would allow Henry to have his cake and eat it too in that the world would finally be rid of the “useless eaters!”

Third world population control, using food as one of the primary weapons, has long been a matter of official covert national policy and a portion of President Obama’s Executive Order 13603 (EO), National Defense Resources Preparedness is a continuation of that policy. Only now, the intended targets are not the LDC’s, but are instead, the American people and after Obama declares martial law, food will undoubtedly be used to subjugate the more resistant regions of our country.

The lessons of history clearly demonstrate that dictatorial regimes, whether they be Socialists, Communists, and Marxists will not hesitate to use food as a weapon against their own people in order to solidify power and impose absolute autocratic control. Food can be withheld from the masses by preventing it from being grown and harvested, by contaminating it and rendering it unfit for human consumption or by simply preventing food from being distributed to a targeted population. And there is a third strategy that the government can employ when subjugating a population by withholding food, that would be food which has a long shelf life. And this is exactly what we see, the Federal government is stockpiling survival food with a long shelf life.

The Feds Have Been Preparing for the Coming Food Shortages Since 2008

As far back as 2008, I can find evidence that the government was attempting to stockpile as much survival food as possible. These events prompted prominent brokers and key media members to advise the public to begin storing food as long as six years ago in anticipation of what is about ready to happen.

In 2011, FEMA issued a “Request for information” (RFI), in which they inquired about the availability for 140 million emergency meal kits with a shelf life of 36 months along with blankets. Please read the FEMA document, listed below in the Appendix, and then I defy the reader to not be concerned about the long-standing pattern of this government in acquiring vast amounts of food.

Collision Course with Disaster

One can hope to survive if the government allows the banks to use the MERS mortgage fraud to seize your home. One can hope to survive if this administration seizes your guns. However, food inflation coupled with declining wages is a prescription for disaster. I do not think it is possible to overstate the dangers covered in this article. America needs to prepare to defend themselves. Buy survival food, store it and hide it!

    THIS IS AN INCORRECT ASSUMPTION!
“If one uses the violent civil unrest in Ferguson, MO. as a barometer of severity of the act of rioting, we need to realize that people are protesting the shooting death of one young man by a local police officer. ”

Less then 10% of those people saw really gave a flying crap about the death of that kid! It was a window of opportunity to riot, rob, steal, theft, vandalize and act in an uncivilized way.

However with that said, yes, when the food shortages hit, or the price of food rails/skyrockets, and that is coming, not only will the 90%+ of that specific group will riot, but you’ll have “the masses” who can access the food for whatever reason joining them.

You certainly took psychology 101.. you know how this plays out.
But to make a comparative analysis using the ferguson group to the scenario of food..is incorrect.

In the hierarchy, yes people will do unbelievable things for food, shelter and safety. Exactly how do you equate the behavior to rob, steal, theft, vandalize to the need for survival.

    I’m actually pretty surprised..

Water, Food, Shelter/Safety & Medicine will be used to control people and most will succumb to accepting a mark in order to have or receive those things – during the tribulation.
Nobody will be forced, but most will be coerced in to taking this mark.

Control of these things will likely be in the hands of those who willing and joyfully wield a sword! We already know who they are.

See what one inspired person in South Central Los Angeles did about the lack of decent nutritious food in his neighborhood — and he has a great sense of humor as well.

    Excerpt from: http://www.naturalnews.com/041688_Ron_Finley_guerilla_gardener_Natural_American_Heroes_award.html

Ron Finley is a brilliant, inspiring, hands-on visionary who is unleashing the transformative power of “guerilla gardening” on the residents of South Central LA. In doing so, he is transforming communities, connecting kids with their food, and simultaneously practicing what he calls, “the most therapeutic and defiant act you can do.”

Watch his celebrated TED talk here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzZzZ_qpZ4w (10:46)

Finley understands the connection between food and community

“South Central LA, home of the drive-thru, and the drive-by,” Finley says. “Funny thing is, the drive-thrus are killin’ more people than the drive-bys. People are dying from curable diseases in South Central LA.”

Finley gets it. He’s wiser than the FDA, the USDA and all the government policies combined. While President Obama’s plan is to put as many people on food stamps as possible so they can spend government money on disease-promoting processed foods, Ron Finley’s plan is to get people off food stamps and put ’em on food forests… to teach people to grow their own live foods that prevent disease, inspire communities and give rise to self-reliance.

This idea of teaching people to grow their own food drives control freak government bureaucrats crazy. The city of Los Angeles, in fact, tried to force him to destroy his curbside food forest. As he explained:

I planted a food forest in front of my house. …The city came down on me, and gave me a citation saying that I had to remove my garden. And this citation turned into a warrant. A warrant for planting food…

With the help of an LA Times reporter and hundreds of petitioners, Finley was finally victorious over an idiotic city policy that wanted to destroy his food forest and turn it back into a curbside of useless weeds.

Now, Ron Finley is on a mission to inspire others to turn vacant lots into food forests, transforming communities and teaching kids the value of growing your own food.

Finley espouses the libertarian idea of self-reliance and defiance against injustice

“It’s my gospel. I’m tellin’ people grow your own food. Growing your own food is like printing money,” he says. And in that quote, Finley reveals that he is ultimately a libertarian revolutionary. The idea of teaching people to create their own wealth by growing food is uniquely libertarian, and it stands in defiance of the government dependence dogma spewed by our modern-day Presidents, including Bush and Obama.

“I have witnessed my garden become a tool for the transformation of my neighborhood. To change the community, you have to change the composition of the soil,” Finley says. And his words also ring true for the nation as a whole: to change America, you have to change the composition of the food.

Finley has actually hit upon the answer to Obamacare in all this as well. Instead of trying to find more money to cover the costs of more disease and nutritional deficits among the people, the Finley approach of teaching people to grow their own food automatically prevents disease, reduces health care costs, lowers national expenditures and it might even put cancer clinics and dialysis centers out of business.

And that’s precisely why the status quo doesn’t want Finley to succeed. His approach to building communities makes disease all but obsolete, rendering entire industries that depend on human suffering largely irrelevant.

I realize the price of food is rising, and that we are definitely headed for trouble on that front, but at the same time, far too many people are having children that they either know they cannot afford to raise, or didn’t think about the cost of bringing children into the world before doing so. As far as military members, my husband is active duty, and I see far too many lower rank soldiers having way more kids than they can afford. I don’t think soldiers should be having more children than their pay rate can provide for any more than I think that McDonalds should be paying their employees $15.00 an hour because these people decided to have children while working at a low paying job. Also, to my knowledge, the study conducted on the percentage of military using food banks didn’t differentiate between the Guard, Reserves, or Active Duty. Regardless, I agree with what you are saying on inflation, but at the same time, I also think we’ve become an entitlement society where people no longer think of the cost of raising children before bringing them into this world and expect the govt. will simply provide for them. It’s one thing to have a family at a food bank because they ran into hard times, but another to have a family at a food bank because they chose to have more kids than they could afford, and that includes the many soldiers I’ve been behind at a store on a base with more children than they can adequately provide for based on their rank. No doubt, we are headed for tough times but the entitlement mentality who knowlingly and continuingly decides to have children that they can’t properly provide for is exacerbating the problem.

    Dear Dave,
You tease! You wrote yesterday that today’s article would be more about ISIS and WWIII. At the end of that article you wrote, ” In my next article, I will lay out the unfolding chronology of events in both the path to WW III and the course of the war itself.” I was really anticipating this. So what gives? Maybe more than 1 article today? I hope. Well, thanks.

It amazes me with all the news and information out there people (including here in the comments) are in complete and utter denial about what is coming. Many have lost their ability to put two and two together and simply do what is instinctive. Prepare for the worst and pray for the best. Scripture tells us to be watchman. Luke 21:29-36. This isn’t rocket science. If one link in the commerce or civil chain breaks, it’s over. We are “that” fragile. Ferguson was simply a about a society that has lost its moral high ground. Anything will bring on this kind of unrest and hunger is but just one of those triggers. Anyone who has not made an attempt to prepare to be self sufficient is taking a gigantic life and death risk and wishing our current climate away is foolish.

First, I would like comment on the civilized readers of The Common Sense Show who are polite when making comments on this site unlike some who comment on other alternative media who are either rude government shills or living in denial of what is coming down the pike:

Case and point is the coming artificially contrived use of food as a weapon to control and/or to liquidate the “useless eaters” of the NWO elites wet dream.
The use or misuse of food as a weapon is as old as the history of man. One of the more recent examples was the forced famine in the early 1930’s Ukraine called the Holodomor.
This famine starved to death over 7 million. Psychopath “Uncle” Joe Stalin and his Judaic Bolshevik helpers were aided by President F.D. Roosevelt who as one of his first acts was to give Uncle Joe and his willing helpers, diplomatic recognition so that the USSR could sell all the grains and food stuffs stolen from the Ukrainian farmers on the world markets to raise the money to support the bankrupt and faltering workers paradise.
    (The Ukrainians were disarmed)

As Dave has outlined on this site, the Federal Government through the various Presidential ex. orders ( odors?) is fixing to do to Americans when Uncle Joe did to the Ukrainians.
And many wonder why the Ukrainians welcomed for good or bad, the Nazis as liberators only about 10 years after the Holodomor!

One can be sure that the Ukrainians have no control over the USSA mass media. Is why we have drummed into the brains of Western Man 24/7 the Nazi “Holocaust”, the national religion, but very little about the mass forced famine of the Ukrainians?
And as recent events have shown, the Ukrainians are still pawns in this struggle between the psychopathic ruled and run USSA/NATO/EU, and the psychopathic ruled and run East.

And while we are on the subject of psychopathy, make to mistake about it, al-Qaeda, ISIS-IS, Hamas and other actors the Middle East and elsewhere, are pawns and shills of the CIA and Israeli intelligence. And many in the alternative media, let alone the ABC, CNN, CBS and Fake News, think that the ISIS “beheading” of US journalist James Foley was real and not a hoax.

I believe Mr. Kissinger just might have it wrong.

Yes control Oil and you can control Nations.

Controlling food and you control People????

That is when you have revolts and riots…and once that starts or when people realize that “Food” is being used as a “tool” then you lose control.

However, since these types of people never get things right in the first place let them continue thinking what they do…….eventually the “common” people will rule and the elite will drool!

Stay firm and sound on our ROCK not their rock.

We are very overpopulated & the solution isn’t just to struggle to feed even more people but to stop population growth, something we were suppose to do after the fossil fuel powered green revolution.

We didn’t, instead, we grew ever more food to feed a rapidly growing population ruining much land & forest in the process.
Now we have over 7 billion humans, many living in atrocious conditions but still having children they cannot feed.
Thanks to religion, birth control, sex education & abortion have been banned or made very difficult to obtain in many countries.

It is now too late to prevent the collapse we are heading for as this unsustainable population continues to grow.
Too many people believe it’s their right to have as many children as “god” gives them, but I don’t see any “god” providing food for these poor children & many of them die of diseases or parasites because of their foul living conditions & lack of adequate, nourishing food.

It’s also very unfortunate that they believe they have a right to have their children supported by others.

Nature doesn’t recognize that right, & when any animal overpopulates it’s environment, the result is the same, hunger, disease, starvation, wars = mass death.
We are still animals & will suffer the same fate.

    @stashegal,
No, the world is not overpopulated. The Earth is equipped to feed and water 7 billion people. Stop blaming GOD for what despot, depraved, tin-horn, tyrants do to their own people by starving them out. One thing you do not take into consideration is that human beings can think and innovate..to the good of everyone. Who has control of the good things is what causes many of the problems.
