A Widespread Power Failure Plus An Ebola Outbreak Would Become America’s Extinction Level Event

On November 13 and 14 of 2013, DHS and NERC conducted a simulated power grid takedown drill. Despite the fact the drill happened over 10 months ago and was well-publicized, the results have never been released. Additionally, many of us were concerned when we learned that the Russians and the Chinese were allowed to “participate” in the drill. Even more concerning is the result of the Grid Ex II drill which demonstrated that if a widespread power outage was accompanied by a bio-terror event, such as a release of Ebola, the impact would overwhelm our nuclear power industry and the consequences could prove devastating.

After 10 months of secrecy, the results of the drill are beginning to leak. Over the past six months, I have received various communications from nuclear power plant whistleblowers, who have warned me about ongoing FEMA visits to the nuclear power plants across the United States. The visits are being triggered as a consequence to the results of the Grid Ex II drill. All of the visits coincide with Nuclear Power Plants which lie on earthquake fault lines! Here is an excerpt from one these sources.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for all you do. I wanted to let you know that FEMA and the CDC are touring my Nuclear Plant today. I am an engineer and am being asked to accompany FEMA and the CDC, geologists and someone from DHS as we assess the structure of our plant as we sit on known earthquake fault line. I understand that this is going on all across the country. I am told FEMA is doing a risk assessment related to earthquakes. Additionally, we are being told that we risk going to prison if we reveal the results of any inspection or what is known about the results of last year’s Grid EX II drill.

Lessons Learned from Fukushima

Fukushima is often spoken of by many, as a possible extinction level event because of the radiation threat. Fukushima continues to wreak havoc upon the world and in the United States as we are being bathed in deadly radiation from this event.

Because of Fukushima, fish are becoming inedible and the ocean currents as well as the prevailing ocean winds are carrying deadly radiation. Undoubtedly, by this time, the radioactivity has made its way into the transpiration cycle which means that crops are being dowsed with deadly radiation. The radiation has undoubtedly made its way into the water table in many areas and impacts every aspect of the food supply. The health costs to human beings is incalculable. However, this article is not about the devastation at Fukushima, instead, this article focuses on the fact that North America could have a total of 124 Fukushima events if the necessary conditions were present.

More realistically, what if two or three plants were hit with a power outage caused by a massive earthquake and this event was combined with a pandemic outbreak (e.g. Ebola), what would be the result?

A Festering Problem

As a result of the Grid Ex II drill, word is beginning to leak out that the results of the drill were much more disturbing that previously believed and that the previously expressed fears related to locating a nuclear power plant on a known earthquake fault line was a disaster waiting to happen.

Even before Fukushima, American regulators knew that a power failure lasting for days involving the power grid connected to a nuclear plant, regardless of the cause, would most likely lead to a dangerous radioactive leak in at least several nuclear power plants. A complete loss of electrical power poses a major problem for nuclear power plants because the reactor core must be kept cool as well as the back-up cooling systems, all of which require massive amounts of power to work. Heretofore, all the NERC drills which test the readiness of a nuclear power plant are predicated on the notion that a blackout will only last 24 hours or less. Amazingly, this is the sum total of a NERC litmus test.   Although we have the technology needed to harden and protect our grid from an EMP event, whether natural or man-made, we have failed to do so. The cost for protecting the entire grid is placed at about the cost for one B-1 Stealth Bomber. Yet, as a nation, we have done nothing. This is inexplicable and inexcusable.   Our collective inaction against protecting the grid prompted Congressman Franks to write a scathing letter to the top officials of NERC. However, the good Congressman failed to mention the most important aspect of this problem. The problem is entirely fixable and NERC and the US government are leaving the American people and its infrastructure totally unprotected from a total meltdown of nuclear power plants as a result of a prolonged power failure. Why would the present administration fail to take the necessary steps to protect the country?

What the DHS/NERC Grid Ex II drill demonstrated was that almost any massive power failure, regardless of the cause, would most certainly last beyond 24 hours.

Interestingly, two sources have mentioned that Grid Ex II looked at the impact of a pandemic on maintaining and operating our nuclear power plants. Amazingly, one of the scenarios that was examined was the spread of Ebola. I was told that Ebola, by itself, would not prevent the running of a nuclear power plant. However, the test revealed that a widespread power outage, combined with a pandemic situation, such as Ebola, would prove catastrophic! the Ebola outbreak in a region combined with a power outage could prevent a nuclear power plant(s) from having enough qualified personnel on hand to run the plant.

In such an event, it is not a matter of calling a substitute teacher. Nuclear power plant personnel are highly skilled people, their jobs cannot “just be taken over”. In such a scenario, we would have a critical manpower shortage almost immediately.

Critical Analyses

According to Judy Haar, a recognized expert in nuclear plant failure analyses, when a nuclear power plant loses access to off-grid electricity, the event is referred to as a “station blackout”. Haar states that all 104 US nuclear power plants are built to withstand electrical outages without experiencing any core damage, through the activation of an automatic start up of emergency generators powered by diesel. Further, when emergency power kicks in, an automatic shutdown of the nuclear power plant commences. The dangerous control rods are dropped into the core, while water is pumped by the diesel power generators into the reactor to reduce the heat and thus, prevent a meltdown. Here is the catch in this process, the spent fuel rods are encased in both a primary and secondary containment structure which is designed to withstand a core meltdown. However, should the pumps stop because either the generators fail or diesel fuel is not available, the fuel rods are subsequently uncovered and a Fukushima type of core meltdown commences immediately. At this point, I took Judy Haar’s comments to a source of mine at the Palo Verde Nuclear power plant. My source informed me that as per NERC policy, nuclear power plants are required to have enough diesel fuel to run for a period of seven days. Some plants have thirty days of diesel. This is the good news, but it is all downhill from here. Again, what if a widespread Ebola outbreak was part of this scenario? Where would the problem solvers and the trained workers on the front lines come from?

The Unresolved Power Blackout Problem

A long-term loss of outside electrical power will most certainly interrupt the circulation of cooling water to the pools. My Palo Verde nuclear power plant source informed me that there is no long term solution to a power blackout and that all bets are off if the blackout is due to an EMP attack or even a massive earthquake leading to a loss of power.

A more detailed analysis reveals that the spent fuel pools carry depleted fuel for the reactor. Normally, this spent fuel has had time to considerably decay and therefore, reducing radioactivity and heat. However, the newer discharged fuel still produces heat and needs cooling. Housed in high density storage racks, contained in buildings that vent directly into the atmosphere, radiation containment is not accounted for with regard to the spent fuel racks. In other words, there is no capture mechanism. In this scenario, accompanied by a lengthy electrical outage, and with the emergency power waning due to either generator failure or a lack of diesel needed to power the generators, the plant could lose the ability to provide cooling. The water will subsequently heat up, boil away and uncover the spent fuel rods which required being covered in at least 25 feet of water to remain benign from any deleterious effects. Ultimately, this would lead to fires as well and the release of radioactivity into the atmosphere. This would be the beginning of another Fukushima event right here on American soil. Both my source and Haar shared exactly the same scenario about how a meltdown would occur. Subsequently, I previously spoke with Roger Landry, from the Liberty Beacon, who worked for Raytheon in various Department of Defense projects for 28 years, many of them in this arena, and Roger also confirmed this information and that the above information is well known in the industry.

Placing Odds On a Failure Is a Fools Errand

An analysis of individual plant risks released in 2003 by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission shows that for 39 of the 104 nuclear reactors, the risk of core damage from a blackout was greater than 1 in 100,000. At 45 other plants the risk is greater than 1 in 1 million, the threshold NRC is using to determine which severe accidents should be evaluated in its latest analysis. According to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit 1, in Pennsylvania has the greatest risk of experiencing a core meltdown, 6.5 in 100,000, according to the analysis. These odds don’t sound like much until you consider that we have 124 nuclear power generating plants in the US and Canada and when we consider each individual facility, the odds of failure climb. How many meltdowns would it take in this country before our citizens would be condemned to the hellish nightmare, or worse, being experienced by the Japanese?

Is Armageddon At Hand?

None of the NERC, or the Nuclear Regulatory tests of handling a prolonged blackout at a nuclear power plant has answered two critical questions, “What happens when these nuclear power plants run out of diesel fuel needed to run the generators”, and “What happens when some of these generators fail”? In the event of an EMP attack, can tanker trucks with diesel fuel get to all of the nuclear power plants in the US in time to re-fuel them before they stop running? Will tanker trucks even be running themselves in the aftermath of an EMP attack? And in the event of an EMP attack, it is not likely that any plant which runs low on fuel, or has a generator malfunctions, will ever get any help to mitigate the crisis prior to a plethora of meltdowns occurring. Thus, every nuclear power plant in the country has the potential to cause a Chernobyl or Fukushima type accident if our country is hit by an EMP attack or a catastrophic earthquake.

In all of these scenarios, the country, the world cannot afford a manpower shortage which would accompany this event.

…And There Is More…

The ramifications raised in the previous paragraphs are significant. What if the blackout lasts longer than 24 hours? What if the reason for the blackout is an EMP burst caused by a high altitude nuclear blast and transportation comes to a standstill? In this instance, the cavalry is not coming. Adding fuel to the fire lies in the fact that the power transformers presently take at least one year to replace. Today, there is a three year backlog on ordering because so many have been ordered by China. This makes one wonder what the Chinese are preparing for with these multiple orders for both transformers and generators. In short, our unpreparedness is a prescription for disaster. As a byproduct of my investigation, I have discovered that most, if not all, of the nuclear power plants are on known earthquake fault lines. All of California’s nuclear power plants are located on an earthquake fault line. Can anyone tell me why would anyone in their right mind build a nuclear power plant on a fault line? To see the depth of this threat you can visit an interactive, overlay map at this site.

The more facts I gather about the threat of a mass nuclear meltdown in this country, the more questions I realize that are going unanswered. With regard to the nuclear power industry we have the proverbial tiger by the tail. Big Sis, former DHS director, Janet Napolitano, once stated that it is not matter of if we have a mass power grid takedown, but it is a matter of when. I would echo her concerns and apply the “not if, but when” admonition to the possibility of a mass meltdown in this country. If we combine the cocktail of a pandemic with a power outage lasting longer than 24 hours, we have no means to recover the combination of events.

At the end of the day, can anyone tell me why would any country be so negligent as to not provide its nuclear plants a fool proof method to cool the secondary processes of its nuclear materials at all of its plants? Why would ANY nuclear power plant be built on an earthquake fault line? Why are we even using nuclear energy under these circumstances? And along these lines, why is the CDC bringing Ebola patients into the country for treatment? One more question, why the CDC, the holder of the patent for Ebola, be visiting nuclear power plants. What legitimate interest could they have unless someone believed that Ebola will be part of this scenario?

Hello Dave, My Fellow Friend of Freedom. 1st of all, you did a MUST HEAR video with the Hagmann’s the other day. That was an atomic bomb of a show with the info given! I have mentioned to you several times, the power grid is essential to their success to take down America. The Pandemic which is all created for all the wrong reasons, and which has been predicted many years ago, which go on youtube and put it in your search engine, and behold, so many videos from very respected people in their fields tell of what is happening now, clear back them. UUUmmm. If I was B.S. what would I do if I wanted to destroy a country. Take away items that are required to live. Make them so weak, they cannot fight back, they instead will come crawling to us. Take away their homes. Their jobs (sorry, that has already been done, me bad) Detain anyone who could lead more than one person. So when you come crawling to them, you will be sent to those one way camps that don’t have return trip buses. At this location, you will have a choice to live under evil or not at all. You will accept the vaccines or choice number 2. Can you say “Chop, a little off the top”. Want a fact? Under BarryCare, ICD 9E978 this will help you sleep better. People, you ARE AT THE FRONT DOOR of elimination!!!! Article #1 of the Georgia Guide Stones. That is the End Goal for the S.O.B.’s who want total control and a BS World Order. The plan has picked up speed at a alarming rate. Ebola, is the weapon they need to get the worse thing that can happen here, and that is Martial Law. Someone said, maybe we should have had a Civil war. Well we Shoulda, because we Coulda, and we Woulda and now that we didn’t, prepare to pay the piper! Predicted also in the good book.

One question I did not see addressed was how long does it take for a nuclear plant to shut down and no longer be a threat of meltdown?

Any sane “manager” would want to keep at least twice the amount of diesel required to power the plant for a complete shutdown, as well as make plans for emergency shipments.

Of course, Bush’s farm purchase in Paraguay years ago indicates to me that meltdowns are planed already. They were planned before the plants were ever built, otherwise they would NOT have been built on know fault lines.

The so-called elite have placed nuclear weapons all over the country, ready to detonate on command. Now they have placed a Muslin Jihadist in office as the CEO of corp US to pave the way for detonation by giving them scapegoats and war to cover for it.

They really do want us all dead. I will return to my maker in His time, not theirs.

Another possibility is more than just catastrophic for America and that is the combination of so many volcanoes now erupting with many more active, some of which will eventually erupt…too much dust, ash and other volcanic debris in the atmosphere will cause global cooling and possibly winter like weather all around the globe…(From a recent article) – When Ebola spreads to the regions of the Earth which experience Fall and Winter Flu seasons, airborne Ebola infectious routes are to be expected in conjunction with direct contact infection.

Imagine the weather in full cooperation with the ebola virus!

    Dear Dave,

It is my opinion, that individuals and families need to start having the “talk”, of leaving urban, suburban, etc. areas. The “tightening” is happening faster now, on the peoples ability to leave these areas.

    God bless.

  7. Scareds"$%less September 19, 2014 at 8:10 am

Can some please explain why a nuclear power plant that generates electricity needs grid power to operate? Why can’t it generate its own power to maintain pumps, motors, ect.

  8. Cindylumckenzie September 19, 2014 at 8:39 am

Of course Ebola is coming toAmerica. Obamer is sending 3000 of our finest to Africa. To “help” contain the outbreak. How many will return sick? also, it’s human nature to believe that ” this will never happen” therefore we have nuclear power plants built on fault lines. Where I live, we have a dam built beside a fault line. When it breaks all H…will break loose. Don’t worry be happy. Sure.

Dave, great article. Have you read Walter Russell’s book Atomic Suicide? It came out around 1957. In case you didn’t know, Walter Russell was one of THE smartest and gifted men to EVER walk this planet. Nikola Telsa told him to lock his ideas away for 1,000 years because man wasn’t ready for them. So, having said that, Russell spells out in exquisite detail why nuclear power should have been abandoned long ago. Basically all those highly charged particles are concentrating in the upper atmosphere and will basically ‘cook’ the planet and destroy our oxygen. Russell also points out that the Creator/God intended for those highly charged particles to remain IN the earth because they help to create soil by breaking up the subsurface rocks with countless harmless mini explosions. The so-called Royal Family has a lot of ownership in uranium mines and they obviously don’t give a crap about the planet or the oxygen supply….money is much more important don’t ya know. So, we’re on some kind of pathetic suicide ride in this Cali Yugi. Your questions are excellent. The answers are there….we have a small minority of absolute pieces of shit controlling the masses of dumbed down asses. And the awakened ones (that includes you 🙂 , are left scratching our heads wondering WHY this all has to be so stupid right? Even in the face of all this madness, there are solutions in the form of counterbalancing waves of energy to cancel out the bad. You’ve no doubt heard of Bearden? He has talked about machines that can cancel out radioactivity and I sent you an email yesterday about Rife machines that can cancel out the bad waves in terms of human health. So, if you’re feeling brave enough to put that out there to your readers, all the better.

  12. jack September 19, 2014 at 10:42 am

Dave, follow on to previous message…

Tom Bearden knows how to neutralize radiation. The WORLD should know that through your website as it should know about RIFE technology to neutralize ebola and whatever next bug/virus that comes along as well. It’s a choice, you CAN share this information with the disclaimer that you’re busy researching the validity of this stuff and/or do some ground-breaking interviews with the best and brightest out there. Thanks for you time and your efforts to spread the truth……the truth ALSO needs SOLUTIONS, not just the bad news.

It has to be intentional. No common sense. It isn’t like they didn’t know there were fault lines there. This all seems contrived doesn’t it? Wipe the US off the map what do the globalists care. Maybe their projections are that only 66 M will live through it, hence the 11 mega cities. When we had the great California blackout a few years back where power was out for 12 hours or so everything was okay, people were grilling and sharing with neighbors. Have that last a week and it is all over. There will be mass chaos. Given the short window if power goes out go where you can get what you can as far as water and food go. It may be some time before word spreads of what is happening. Don’t tell anyone that you have anything.

The late Andrew Lobaczewski, Polish psychiatrist, hinted in his important book “Political Ponerology” the study of evil in politics, that the genetic structure for psychopathic behavior may be inherited. This would explain the activities of Bill Gates (pathogens and vaccines) and his father (planned parenthood).

One of the reasons this country would build nuke plants on fault lines, not protect the nukes plants from EMP and no domestic manufacturing of electric transformers now made in China among many other things, is because like it or not, the USA is a “pathocracy” run by “pathocrats”

“Pathocrats” is a word coined by Lobaczewski to describe psychopaths in political power.

According to Lobaczewski, psychopaths aren’t that smart or talented. However, one of the mystery of the ages is how they can get normal people with talent and high IQ to the work for them, including sending the young men and women off to war under one guise or the other.

Dave…long a concern of mine…but to put some sense to the madness (rather than attribute the reason to pure evil) would be to place plants on fault lines so that in the event of meltdown (China syndrome)the’ pile’ might be at the weakest point in the crust (subduction zone)and so melt through into the magma .

Sorry Dave, you have been fed a lot of nuclear nonsense. It was well know years ago that the proper way to store irradiated fuel (RUF) was high, dry and in air, much like firewood – RUF has no criticality in air, but it most certainly does in water which is a neutron reflector. As far as the radiation boogey man, if it hasn’t burned you or damaged the retina of you eyes, why fear it? Because you can’t see it? Nuclear radiation is LIGHT energy that exists on the same EMF spectrum as radio and visible light.’

  21. Dave September 20, 2014 at 11:15 am

Dave, no need to be rude.
First: “spent rods” I assume you mean irradiated fuel? They aren’t “spent”. They have outlived there usefullness as uranium fuel because of the transformation that takes place in the reactor, and in short, reactors are the alchemist’s dream come true – for they change basically worthless uranium into incredibly valuable metals. Back in the 1970’s GE and the industry knew exactly what to do with irradiated fuel rods. You ship them to the MFRP in Morris IL to be disassembled and “cleaned” of all the valuable isotopes and reconstructed into useable fuel again – The plant, although built, was never allowed to operate via the Jimmy Carter admin. China, I believe was selected to do the job.

Waste Isolation Projects and Yucca Mnt are all hoaxes – nobody is going to through away all those valuable resources including Pu which is more valuable than gold – Who own’s the plutonium and how much is it worth? All those valuable “spent rods” sitting on nuke plant sites presents a huge problem – A security problem, for how do you protect your valuable inventory? Deceive the public, fill them full of nuclear nonsense and no gang anywhere would steal stuff they think would kill them. I’d load them on flatbeds, ship to my property in ND, store them like firewood, and put a few bundles in my swimming pool if I had one cause winters here are brutal. The only catch: Give me title of ownership to all the “spent rods” I ship – Ain’t gonna happen cause the utilities know the value and the slobs will never get what they paid for to create. I respect your right to your beliefs – that does not make them facts however.
