The Common Sense Show

The evidence is mounting by the day. The United States is on the verge of a power grid failure. It seems that everyone in the “club” knows this fact except for you and me. Who could forget when George Carlin once reminded us that, “we ain’t in the ____ club”. Maybe we should pay attention to what the members of the “club” are saying.

My overwhelming fear for my fellow Americans is that the power grid will fail, as some important people are predicting, and millions of us will be unprepared. We could experience massive civil unrest and be forced into a perpetual state of martial law.

A nation without power, food and normal police protection could literally be reduced to an environment with all of the societal safety protections of a Somalia where chaos and social disorder reigns supreme.

Janet Napolitano Issues a Dire Warning

“A massive and “serious” cyber attack on the U.S. homeland is coming, and a natural disaster , the likes of which the nation has never seen is also likely and on its way.”

Outgoing DHS Director, Janet Napolitano, August 27, 2013

napolitano2Departing Department of Homeland Security director, Janet Napolitano, stated during her farewell speech that it was a matter of “when” the power grid would collapse, not “if”, due to a cyber-based attack.

The centralization of control over the rapidly emerging smart grid, centered around smart meters, certainly increases the odds that a centralized attack would take down the entire power grid. According to Napolitano, the grid has never been more vulnerable to an attack from hackers.

Napolitano’s August warning of a power grid take down was not her first. In the early part of this year, Napolitano stated that a cyber 9/11 attack is imminent. A believable justification for Napolitano’s unanticipated departure as DHS director has never been revealed. Given her very public and ominous warnings about an impending cyber grid take down in the US, might be the main impetus for her departure from the position of DHS director. During her tenure as DHS director, she has done next to nothing to prevent such an attack upon our power grid and infrastructure. Perhaps this modern day version of Nero is exiting Rome before it burns to the ground.

What Do Safeway and Walmart Know That We Don’t?

In a case of judge a man by what he does, not what he says, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) recently reported that several major corporations, including Walmart and Safeway, are unplugging from the grid. This recent development should be extremely troubling for all Americans who are closely paying attention to the upcoming Grid EX II drill this week.

The WSJ article went on to state that these corporations are becoming energy independent because they do not want to be in a position to trust the reliability of the power grid. This is certainly a legitimate possibility raised by the WSJ. However, since this is a recent trend, and the unplugging of major corporations from the power grid is a trend which coincides with the announced Grid EX II drill which is commencing on November 13th, one has to wonder if these monolithic corporations don’t know something that the rest of us should know. Adding fuel to the fire, other such notables such as Verizon Communications and Edison International are also unplugging from the grid.

Although the WSJ went on to focus on the notion that the recent trend of self-power generation is hurtful to utility companies and cuts into their bottom line, there are other lingering concerns. This could certainly be true, but again, the timing is certainly suspect.

It Is a Fools’ Errand to Predict Disaster Dates

Ilights go outt may be a fool’s errand to predict the date of a grid failure. However, forewarned is indeed forearmed. Awake Americans should not have to be reminded that within most false flag events is a terror drill which substantively ties together the drill with the terrorist event. The 9/11 attacks and the 7/7 bombings serve as prime examples of hiding a false flag event within a terror drill. This strategy has worked very well before and on so many occasions, that it would be naive to not expect this scenario to be played out again when the time is right and the anticipated maximum benefit can be realized from the event.

Along these lines of a coming false flag terror event, the New York Times is currently reporting that …”thousands of utility workers, business executives, National Guard officers, FBI anti-terrorism experts and officials from government agencies in the United States, Canada and Mexico are preparing for an emergency drill in November that will simulate cyber attacks that could take down large sections of the power grid.” To date, 150 businesses have volunteered to participate in the drill. This is a scheduled two day drill commencing on November 13th.

The November 13th Grid EX II drill could be the very event that outgoing DHS director, Janet Napolitano, was warning about as she vacated her post. I am hopeful that if there was a false flag event initially planned for this week, that the plans have been abandoned because of the attention that the event is finally receiving in the alternative media.

grid ex ii

When I recently appeared on KCNR radio (Shasta/Redding, CA.) both talk show hosts and the producer announced that at the Susanville, CA prison, the inmates were making signs which said “martial law”. Adding some credibility to the talk show hosts revelation lies in the fact that one of the talk show hosts, Erin Ryan, is a field representative for Congressman Doug Lamalfa. Again, I am left asking the question, what do some people know that others do not?

false flag grid ex

I agree with good “ole Big Sis”, Janet Napolitano, it is not a matter “if” the grid is going down, it is a matter of “when”. The country may cruise right into the Thanksgiving holiday without a false flag incident, I would just encourage everyone to take a couple of extra precautions.

Dave, Thank you for another great and informative article.

I am wondering what your plan is when a trigger event – such as grid failure – happens. I am certain you are well supplied. Do you plan on hunkering down and defending your homestead, or is your plan to bug out of the City? Perhaps that plan is secret, mine is 🙂

I think the NSA has been busy with this one. It seems to me MORE people are communicating about this than past events/drills. I have been informing everybody I know. Email, phone, text. I want the chatter out there. I suggest all those who are informed do the same. I also suggest you keep your kids out of school this coming Wednesday at a minimum, and the rest of the work week if at all possible.

The collapse is coming and soon. Whether it is grid ex 2, the economy, an attack, etc, which kicks off the collapse, one thing is sure, a major collapse is near. Various evidences point to this.

I’ve learned not to look for specific dates for events to happen because although an event is certain to happen, the exact timing of an event may change because of unknown circumstances that could forward or delay the exact timing of an event. Either way, the majority of people in the United States are not ready for the collapse; nor are they paying attention to the evidences showing we are heading for a soon collapse.

The arrival of the collapse will be like 911. 911 occurred on a “normal” day while everyone was going about their usual business, when all of a sudden out of nowhere, a most unthinkable and shocking event happened which ended up affecting everyone. The collapse will happen in a similar manner on a day or night which seems like things are just “normal” business as usual routines. The biggest difference between the coming collapse and any other event we have faced in America is that when the collapse occurs, there will be no going back to business as usual ever again.

Prepare yourselves. God loves you all.

I just hope they are stupid enough to put that scenario into action, as it will finally expose them for the terrorist they are, thus giving Americans the justification they need to take those bstrds to task for their contemptuous beliefs that we are no more than cattle which need to be herded from pasture to corral !!!
You people out there in La La Land must know that if this does come to past, it will be the signal of the start of the civil war, as Americans are tired of being herded about like those stupid cattle !!!

  5. William B Stoecker November 9, 2013 at 7:28 am

Yes, it is just a question of when, and if not a power outage there will be a massive internet failure, a bombing, a plague, or simply a continuing escalation of our one-sided race war, etc. Every patriot should do at least a little prepping…stockpile food, water, water purification equipment, at least one firearm, and ammunition, as well as candles, flashlights, and spare batteries. When and if the power goes out, immediately store more water, for if the outage continues for long the taps will cease to provide it.

Dave, have you read about what has happened in and around the San Juan Islands in NorthWest Washington? A huge Power Outage on communications! Please read the article on Steve Quayle’s website and respond to your readers if you can. There has yet to be an explanation as to why all communications went dry. Including 911 emergency calls, Doctors can’t phone in or fax prescriptions for their patients. Banks have closed. A state emergency has been issued to cover losses associated with those businesses that can’t operate. This is a good example of the types of chaos and trickle down effect these events can have. I’d keep my eye on it. The cables run in the deep ocean. In fact, the military is always on alert for Russian Subs that can get through the Straights of Juan De Fuca unnoticed. Please People, keep a sustainability. Water, Medications, Food, warmth, safety from thugs. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it:) Peace, Love and Joy to you all.

I thought it would be prudent of me this morning to let you know that according to Canada Free Press that Chinese Troops will have boots on the ground in Hawaii from November 12th – 14th. The reason they are going to Hawaii is to “Simulate humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to a fictional third country.” Also if you look on the IRS Website, under the electronic filing PIN request they are in the midst of a planned outage from November 9th – 12th.

If author Edward Abbey was still alive (he died in 1989 at age 62), he may have written an updated, volume II version of ‘The Monkey Wrench Gang’ and turned the focus away from environmentalism and toward a new target: the DHS (specifically, FEMA and the TSA)! He wouldn’t want to bring the power grid down and instead of eco-sabotage he might be calling for
    “monkeywrenching” of FEMA and TSA.
One of Edward Abbey’s many quotes was, “If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government —and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws.”
This country needs a lot of outlaws now! ….’Hayduke lives’!!

My family has three locations in the metropolitan area that we could bug into. Our house would be the most comfortable and the best stocked, but the other two although not as comfortable or well stocked at this time might prove to be safer. I am beginning to think that we should leave our options open and consider the possibility of going to one of the other locations if circumstances dictate. Its hard to know but I think flexibility will be an important aspect of survival WTSHTF. We live on large peninsula with very few exit routes and several million people will be vying for every square inch of the roads out. So it makes sense to stay put or leave now. Trouble is if we leave now, we will leave pretty much empty handed as the downturn has destroyed the housing market and the employment situation is bad also. So we will likely just keep adding to our preps and start stocking three locations instead of just one.

  15. Lee-Ann M Kenerson November 9, 2013 at 10:18 am

I have been in AZ now for one year. Part of my decision to change my entire life from the east coast to here was survival. Two years ago I was digging out from what we called Snow-tober. I was living in the 2nd largest city in Massachusetts and for 8 days we were without electricity. We had natural gas for hot water tank and the gas stove but our heat was oil/steam we had a fireplace. We had fore warning but like most in New England you think Oh well a day off work maybe one day without electric. One hour into the storm we lost electric. When we woke and looked out trees where down everywhere trees that were 50 plus years old. At least every other house in a city block had a tree on their roof . You could not walk beyond your house because live electric lines and poles were also down until by radio we heard the grid had been shut off throughout the city. I am 5ft 2in and the snow was up to my waist in most areas. Late that day I walked to the neighborhood store that was empty of food water could not pump gas and was running on a generator. Cell phones did not work . I borrowed wood from a neighbor to start a fire in the fireplace it brought the temp in the house up one notch from 40 to 41, In the good ole days a gas stove was great the oven still worked. Not today the oven is now started by a electric ignition only . A match still worked on the top burners so we were able to cook and we could put food outside in snow forts as not to spoil. Oh well!. Mayor on the radio announced that he had no idea when any section of the city would be back online. We were unable to venture out in the car for 3 days. Waiting for snow plows and tree removal. This was all the New England States and hospitals and nursing homes were a first priority and the elderly. Every day there were announcements of a gas station that was open still no banks. Grocery stores that were on generators were cash purchase only. Gas stations also cash only and you got inline and waited no fill ups $20.00 only. If nothing happens with the Grid exercise I am sure we will have a sigh of relief however do not let your guard down. Always be prepared especially with water . We have been saving grey water for 6 months now, if you have any common sense you are on high alert as one must be at all times now. Don’t panic just be prepared as best you can and find groups of like minded people. Learn how to Barter……. .Thanks Dave

  16. Han Solo November 9, 2013 at 10:46 am

the city had to shut down the water for a day to fix a broken segment of main line. It has now been 3 days w/o water from the taps because they messed up. We use a water cooler for drinking and I have a stockpile of extra in case, so we are ok in that regard, but it has been highly annoying. No dishwasher, no washing machine, no shower. If it had been a widespread power outage, it would have been the same with the addition of no heat and lights, etc. Many people have had to go out and buy water, having no reserves at all to draw from. A long term power outage would have left stores dry and people wondering how the heck they were going to get water to drink and wash.

Although I am happy we have water, the lack of running water is very annoying and makes staying clean and washing anything more difficult. Some alternative methods for non electrical washing and cleaning are going to be explored so that things will go more smoothly. Just something to think about if the power grid goes down.

If I were the enemy of this freedom loving, Constitution carrying crowd, I would shut the lights out on the morning of the 28th of November, or the 25th of December, when many families are away from their caches and supplies and ammo and weapons and subsequent game plans. And if you locked down the interstates and airports there would be a vast majority of the freedom loving patriots without their ability to resist and hence it would be far easier to subdue more people in this type of scenario. Just a thought.

Two summers back the power when down for almost two weeks. The temperature was in the upper 90s. After one week people started getting really nasty when they could not get ice . Prepare for the worst and hope for the best! What have you got to lose? If nothing happens …you have extra supplies for the next weather related disaster to which there will be quite a few this year with this weather modification going on over on the coast of Ellis Island.

I predict nothing will happen, and if something does happen it won’t be as dramatical as this article puts out. If another 911 does happen I predict that it will affect those that brought it upn themselves to face as much destruction and death as they wanted to inflict on us the American people. That is my prediction. God Bless the USA and Israel and may he bring destruction and death on all those that come against his chosen people.

  23. Dave November 9, 2013 at 3:22 pm

    It won’t happen.
First, it would remove control from the psychopaths currently in power, not increase it for them.
Second, it would allow competing groups in many regions with competing philosophies of those in DC to gain power in the country.
Third, those currently in power may very well be murdered with little recourse to those murdering them.
This is the last thing that “they” want.

So when the power goes down for whatever reason, like a CME from the sun, etc, etc, what happens to the cooling systems at the nuclear power plants?

Uh-oh… Houston, we have a BIG problem.

Bug out? Bug out to exactly where? There are over 100 nuke power plants just in the USA, plus whatever else assorted reactors. And multi-hundreds more reactors scattered around the world, and when they’re all in the state of meltdown, there’s no safe place to go.

When people are figuring out just how they’re going “to survive” if things go bad, virtually no one factors in all the several 100s of meltdown that will be going on.

As long as those reactors exist, there’s no possibility for survival for anyone. Waaaaaaay too much radiation from pole to pole. Everyone and nearly everything dead. Except maybe for some radiation extremophile bacteria and molds.

Not exactly a happier, brighter tomorrow, eh?

The elite may indeed turn the power off some time in the future, and I actually think it will happen someday, but I wouldn’t read too much into Wal Mart or any other corporation trying to unplug from the grid. If the power gets turned off for any appreciable amount of time, the only thing Wal Mart is going to worry about is how to keep the angry and lawless mobs from looting their stores completely empty within a matter of hours, and then burning them to the ground. With the power off, those stores won’t last a week, unplugged from the grid or not unplugged from the grid.

I do agree with you that people should at least think about and prepare as much as possible for the possibility of the electric being out for an extended period of time. And God help you if you are caught in a big city when that happens.

As long as Judah continues to hold onto the private authority to issue our money, is it not unlikely that there will be much hope for our survival? Will 400 plus old leaky nuclear power plants not insure radiation sickness in every land? Only one leaky nuclear power plant at Fukushima threatens to poison our air, kill the pacific, wipe out our fields and turn the surface of our planet into a desert.

On the Dark side, anyone wearing a government uniform will be a target. Ready Aim Go!!! American’s are plenty fed up with this Government between taxes and loss of our Freedoms. This black out will allow the Reset Button to be pushed. Yes there will be some pain in the begining and many will die, but stay focused on the sunset in the horizon… Our Constitution allows the citizens to remove the rogue tryants and replace it with a “We the People Government” again. Then 200 years from now Americans will be again reading the history of all of this Blackout War, and how our country survived another civil war, and how the citizens threw out the tyrants and restored Justice and Freedoms. It is already been stated that it will really only takes about 3% of dedicated citizens to accomplish this task ahead. So how about lets recruit 25% of our citizens to be dedicated. Just take the 100 Million people are unemployed right now, thats about 1/3 of the country. Need a job? Ready Aim Go!!

Many people across the US have already met the “Collapse”. We’re witnessing systematic destruction: “Natural” disasters, economic devastation of cities, extreme energy extraction, Hurricane Sandy, Hurricane Katrina, Detroit, Mayflower, Bayou Corne, the Gulf, the Colorado floods, On and on. Communities destroyed, people displaced and never compensated. The lesson is: Look out for yourself, but also be prepared to look out for others, too. Be a source of strength, not a victim. Be a community builder, not a frightened hide-away with a private stash and guns to protect it. Think of things you can do that will benefit all. Those things will also benefit you. Prepare yourself with knowledge. Your stash may be wiped away, but if you have armed yourself with knowledge, you’ll be able to rebuild a life. Don’t look to the government to save you. Look to yourself and be a link in a web to support us all.
